cashstr.app is built on a simple promise: your financial information is yours. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we never share it with third parties for marketing purposes. This policy explains exactly what we do with your information and why.
1. Who we are
cashstr.app is an independent personal finance guidance tool. You can contact us at info@cashstr.app with any questions about this policy.
2. What information we collect
We collect only what you choose to enter:
- •Account information: Your email address and a hashed (encrypted) password when you sign up.
- •Financial information you enter: Debts, balances, interest rates, income amounts, obligations, mortgage details, and cash available. This is stored securely in your account and never shared.
- •Payment history: Payments you choose to log inside the app to track your progress. We do not connect to your bank or process any real transactions.
- •Email preferences: Whether you have opted in or out of specific email nudges and reminders.
- •Billing information: If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment details. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status — we never see your full card number.
3. What we do NOT collect

- ✗We do not collect your National Insurance number, passport, or government ID
- ✗We do not track you across other websites
- ✗We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers
4. How we use your information
Your information is used solely to:
- •Provide the guidance and recommendations you see in the app
- •Save your data between sessions so you don't have to re-enter it
- •Send email reminders and nudges (only if you have opted in)
- •Process your subscription via Stripe (if applicable)
- •Respond to support requests you send to us
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell or share your personal data. The only third parties involved are:
- •Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. See stripe.com/privacy.
- •Resend: Email delivery for notifications and nudges you have opted into. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver these messages.
- •Neon (database): Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
No other third party has access to your data. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.
6. Data retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all of your personal and financial information is permanently removed from our systems. You can do this at any time from the .
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- •Access the personal data we hold about you
- •Correct any inaccurate information
- •Delete your account and all associated data
- •Opt out of email communications at any time (via Settings)
- •Request a copy of your data

8. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar third-party analytics service.
9. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Your financial information is stored in an encrypted database. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no system can guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
cashstr.app is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
